Holidaying at Home

May 22, 2020

Full lockdown in the UK officially started on 23rd March. We’ve missed out on anniversaries, holidays and birthdays not to mention public holidays. Easter, for example, we couldn’t bring the family together unless we already lived together. But...it’s not all that bad is it?

Home-schooling - it’s fun, right? Working from home is good too. Did you jump on the ‘banana bread’ train? Only leaving the house for essential trips has certainly created lots of free time at home and we can still make the most of every sunny day, take up a new hobby, read and de-stress.

If you have already mowed your lawns and planted lights for sitting in your garden with your friends and family when lockdown is finally over, let us help you make your garden feel even more like the perfect holiday destination.

1. Outdoor furniture

You will finally have time to finish that book that won't let you start a new one. What better place to read than in the fresh air?  Whether sitting in the open air or a conservatory or garden room, you need comfort! Why not consider building a relaxation room in your garden - we can help. The weather can be unpredictable at times so to have shelter when you want to stay outside is ideal. There is some amazing garden furniture that will suit any garden building or on your lawn. Then all you’ll need is a....

2. Barbecue

Whether it's DIY or industrial, a BBQ is a must-have for every summer season, especially now that we all need relaxation and time to chill out and not worry. A wall-mounted barbecue would be amazing but for such a project you are restricted by the shape and size of your garden. Free-standing BBQs are pretty good these days and there will be plenty of deals to be had as we’re all confined to our homes. Have a look here for a barbecue.

3. Hot tub / Pool

You wouldn't believe how many options there are for immersing yourself in water - hot or cold - in your garden! You’ll never leave the house again! Swimming pool, spa, jacuzzi, hot tub  - why not take a look here: water

4. Garden heating

If you still worry about spending cold nights in the garden here's a solution for that as well: a garden heater is a great investment if you want to enjoy your garden all year round. Having the right patio heater will allow you to take full advantage of your outdoor space, even when the sun and the temperature goes down. You can find all kinds of outdoor heaters, whether it be floor standing, hanging, or even a tabletop heater. A fire pit is a garden feature all on it’s own - just ready for when we can socialise again.

If you ever need expert help or advice on building anything in your garden, as well as permits related to it, please contact us.
