Structural Calculations & Building Regulations

Build Architecture Awards 2020 Winner of
"Best Architectural Planning & Structural Engineering Company - London & Home Counties"

We are very proud to say that our dynamic team of structural engineers won awards for “best structural engineering solutions” 3 years in a row. Structural calculations are extremely important for your building. Our structural engineers will do all the structural calculations for you to safeguard against any issues during the build.

Simply said, a structural engineer will make calculations to ensure that your building doesn’t suffer any adverse effects during the build.  A report from a structural engineer will also contain the calculations needed for materials, structural works, foundations, beams, joists and load-bearing walls.

From our own experience, a good structural engineer can save you up to 20% of costs. Also, structural calculations are needed for Building Regulations.

You will need a structural engineer for:

  • Loft Conversions
  • Extensions
  • Rebar Calculations and Design
  • Steel Connections Calculations and Design
  • Structural Analysis Design
  • Retaining Walls
  • Piling
  • Reinforced Concrete
  • Steel Structures

What are Building Regulations?

The Building Regulations are minimum standards for design, construction and alterations to virtually every building. They are developed by the Government and approved by Parliament.

These regulations set national standards for building work, whether it be on a major new development or an extension or alterations to your home. They cover all aspects of construction, including foundations, damp-proofing, the overall stability of the building, insulation, ventilation, heating, fire protection and means of escape in case of fire.

Our fees include a full set of existing and proposed drawings, roof plans, cross sections and STRUCTURAL CALCULATIONS.  These are then exactly what your builder needs to be able to quote for your works. Building regulation fees payable to your approved inspector are not included.
