A bedroom is a place where you start and end every day, and therefore it requires a lot of items to stick in it. If your bedroom is not as spacious as you would like, do not despair, we have some ideas and tips to help you save space in the bedroom with having everything at your fingertips anyway.
The first and most important thing is to choose the right bed. The bed should be comfortable but in this case, it is also desirable that its frame contains drawers and shelves, which can be accomplished in many ways today. There are various types of storage beds and you just need to find one that will be suitable for your room. Also, note the beds with headboard storage. Here are some ideas:
But, if you still don't intend to make or buy a new bed, the easiest way to pack things is to put them under the bed (packed beddings and things you don't use every day). Get the litter boxes or make them on your own in the colour of the bed or some neutral colour in order of not diverting attention to it.
Also, you need to rethink what belongs in your bedroom. Off-season wardrobe is not the most necessary thing for sure if you have a problem with saving space. Don't be a slave to the rule that something belongs somewhere if there isn’t enough space for that. Put it where there is room even if there is no logic at all (under the sofa in the living room, cabinet in the bathroom, closet in the hall).
Use the back of the door by installing little hangers for pieces of wardrobe you use every day. This will not look ugly as it won’t be seen when the door is open and when you close it you are certainly in your intimate space with your belongings. You can also hang a laundry humper on it.
With a little creativity, you can create nightstands yourself that will fit anything into it. For example, these vintage suitcases that you can pack your stuff into will still look pretty while being useful.
Instead of hangers, use shower curtain rings for hanging t-shirts or dresses. This way your clothes won’t slide and you will save up space in your closet. You can do a similar thing with metal hooks to hang the jeans.
Install small pegs or even tension rods on the inner side of the closet door to hang the shoes inside. Pegboard organizer is a good solution for hanging other things too, such as hats or jewellery.
You might consider installing a shelf above the bedroom door as this place is completely untapped and full of potential.
If you insist on having a makeup mirror in your small bedroom, you almost must obtain a storage stool.
And, speaking of mirrors, a good way to have a large mirror in your bedroom is to install shelves between the walls that will be useful for many things and to cover them with sliding mirror doors.
