House fit for children

August 30, 2019

Planning a family at some moment includes preparing a house for kids and subordinating everything in it to them. A house is not only important for the children as a place where they’ll live, but also a place where they will create their childhood memories.

There are many ways to improve your home to suit you and your child, and here are just some of the tips on how to do it:

Create A LOT OF Storage

Tidiness and kids don’t often go hand in hand. As your child grows older, the more toys, books, wardrobe, and shoes you’ll have. Consider adding shelves into alcoves or squeeze a hiding spot under the stairs. This way you will have a more neat house but also you won’t have to worry about a kid doing something unforeseen with the things he/she uses every day.

Living room

The houses with the layout we are used to are having all rooms separate one from another. Not only is this waste of significant space but also involves the separation of family member sin their spare time. You may consider creating a broken plan layout and unite your living room with a kitchen, dining room or any other room in your house.

You must identify potential hazards of which there are the most in the living room. You would be surprised to know what can endanger your child. Things like candles or matches must be out of reach and also your fireplace must be covered. Even the smallest child has developed motor skills and could start a fire. Photo frames, glass coffee table, and other items with glass elements must be lifted up and removed. You-mustn't have small round, cylindrical or oval toys anywhere in the room because that could cause a fatal choking. A missing battery cover of remote control is dangerous for the same reason (especially button batteries).

Kids’ bedroom

With the clever room arrangement, even the parents with no conditions for building a kids’ room could have the sleep benefits of separate spaces. Bunk beds the easiest way to solve this problem. Of course, this is the solution for older kids. For small kids, you can build beds into the wall. This way you will save a lot of space and creates unique atmosphere for your kids.

If your child is a toddler, you must think about the other things: make sure that your crib is set up safely. Your windows should only be able to open 3 inches, about the height of an adult fist, or they should have a window limiter. Window blinds should be cordless so the child couldn’t reach a cord.

Bathroom

When you have children, it is good to concentrate on these things in the bathroom:

•        puddle resistant flooring that’s easy to clean

•        storage for bath toys

•        underfloor heating could be useful because it will dry spillages instantly

•        many towels to wipe away any excess water

We suggest having one bathroom for every two bedrooms. That way your family won’t have any superfluous discussions.

Playrooms

Every child deserves to have space for themselves only but every parent deserves at least a little rest eachday. Distance between playing and sleeping areas will also promote a goodnight’s sleep in young children. Knowing this, our advice is to find a place in your house by any means. Plus, you can fantasize and decorate this space completely to your own and your child's taste.

You can also bring a chalkboard in the playroom, paint the ceiling so it looks like a night sky, bring glow in the dark painting, add a slide between floors… Don’t let redesigning your house be stressful and have fun!
